Hi, I'm Ed Moss, founder of The Space to Thrive and an experienced leader and facilitator that has specialised in developing the potential in people who work with teams to make positive change in in their business, or in their community or sector. 

I have worked as a facilitator, trainer and consultant across the public, charity, co-op and private business sectors, developing the way organisations work with people since 2009. At aged 28 I was performing well in the role of CEO of a National NGO, but struggling to develop the required skills to manage complex change like improving performance. I realised that much of the leadership and management training available to businesses is outdated for the emerging workplaces, workforce. The complexity and richness present in our 21st century lives and a post Covid, hybrid-working world is too much for a top down, single perspective.  

Inspired by my experience, story and struggle with youth homelessness, then building on over a decade of change facilitating; I have refined a change system that works effectively across practically any sector and industry. And I'm here with Team Thrive to share it with you.

BUT doing something different (ie change) often scares some people so much they consciously or unconsciously do anything to keep things the way they are.... even if that way may objectively looks chaotic, messy, dysfunctional. For the people operating in there, even though it may be stressful or slowly eating away at self confidence, it is SAFE. It is safe because it is predictably chaotic or frustrating or stressful and people have learned how to operate with in that and know how to maintain their position with in. 

Here’s the truth, friend: 
the best change programmes are the ones which create opportunities for people to grow to become who they want to be, and connects them to what matters to them

And therefore it doesn’t matter how great you are at a technical aspect of your work or how great your knowledge or expertise is if you are going to bring about change wider than just you or your life - my experience tells me that so much more is possible when you work WITH people to get there. 

If you are not consistently creating the space for people to explore the fears they have about leaving that old way behind, to contribute, have tough conversations, connect and empathise with people, adjust and adapt and be able to model learning from 'failure' and make positive meaning from what happens, progress is going to be at best, SLOW and often PAINFUL for you and those around you! Sound familiar? 

Successful change leaders know that in order to build a can-do team that can deliver results and serve the people or places they are there to help - that doesn’t include you working long hours,  hard selling a change to people or judging success by whether you kept all your deadlines and met all your goals / KPIs. 

No, a can do team is one that is calm, curious, has a sense of perspective, knows exactly what the priority (NOT PLURAL) is and has courageous conversations with and learns from the most surprising of people and places to achieve its results. I know because I have seen this happen.

Because ultimately when we get lost in endless analysis of complex change, constantly jumping between multiple priorities and blaming the effects of what is happening, we just become very busy but not necessarily delivering a change that ADDS VALUE. Can-Do Teams ADD VALUE, to themselves and other people and places in the process.

Totally! This bootcamp is designed people looking for a calmer, kinder and more effective way of leading change. So if you are new to this, you get to shortcut learning bad habits from out of date management practice from the 1970s they teach on MBAs - which had its place back then, but thankfully the world and economy are moving on now! If you want the skills to operate in a diverse, more equal workplace then this course is totally for you. Being able to connect with your team and adapt through change is cruicial no matter how long you have been leading in this ever more complex fast changing world.
